Why do people love too much?

Love, these days, is like a generic drug.

We love because we learn that there exists another human being capable of making us feel special, of mincing the differences, of controlling our inner woes, of accepting our flaws.

And then when we find that someone who makes us complete, we offer ourselves in the most unnerving way we would've imagined. in the most incapable way we become vulnerable..

Side note: Saw this comic on my newsfeed. This was probably me some years back. Today, I'm glad to have solved the mystery of love in my life. I've learned that there are far worse hurting things than heartbreaks; and no greater reward than love, commitment and contentment. *wink*

Proofreading

I don't know if this had been a product of my work, but I tend to edit people... SERIOUSLY edit what they say, what they post, whatever. I've been a real-life proofreader, and I don't exactly know how to act it out now.

Several times I edit TV personalities (e.g. celebrities) who often misconstruct a statement. Now, I'm doing it on friend's blogs and Facebook statuses. I currently hate my brain for functioning, alienating every wrong thing like I'm Microsoft Word's freaking spell/grammar checker.

Don't get me wrong. I'm no saint in sentence structure, neither am I perfect in my vocabularies and the whole 'English' picture. I am a repetitive sinner, but I try to avoid them every so often. I am more than aware of it, so I usually double check everything before posting, even re-read them for a couple times just to make sure.

But this little processor in my head just continues to dive into every opportunity to correct, submitting to mental jabs as exercises. You might say that it's a natural thing, I damn well know it is. But, I judge people by this and think of them differently just because they are no grammar masters, and that's the problem. (God, please don't tell me I'm awful)

So before you judge me as a damn hypocrite, would you even find these mistakes forgiving?
I thought so.

Au Revoir.

I am in awe, taken aback by this life-changing circumstance... trying to battle with myself... thinking of conceding my ego.

But....

I was negated. I was crossed-out like I never made a difference; like my sincerity, nor friendship, never amounted to anything worth redeeming.

So I have come to the conclusion that people, family or not, will always be just people - with own interests, sturdy opinions and biases. Some are repentant. Some are bashful. Some really matter. And like matter, some stay to fill the space, others choose to willfully reject to occupy.

Tonight, I resign to care.

My world minus you; your world minus me - a perfect equality.

Monogamous

*In reaction to the bold and lovely blogger I religiously follow: Jodi

I am indeed one of the biggest fan of monogamy. Who wouldn't enjoy the perks of exclusivity, when you have a life partner, best friend, student, competitor, and fan all-in-one?

On the funny side, I'll let the back label of the Monogamy wine do the talking:

However, some relationships do really end up to be much of a habit, and not an endless expo of excitement, of love, or romance. We've heard endless tales about cheating; adultery even. But sometimes, it just isn't being too-into some other guy/girl, sometimes relationship ends because we forget to make our partners feel like we want them; reassuring them that even if they grew a little fatter, or thinner, or darker, we still find them perfect --for us.

Like when a friend of mine broke up with his long-time guy. She said she felt like she was in it to save a three-year relationship, but she wasn't able to find in her heart the love she had for the man anymore. They were too busy saving the relationship, more than just showing their affection, more so the love. They lost the touch. They forgot. She said she wasn't even attracted to him anymore, and we take that the same goes for the other party because he had his eyes for someone even before they broke up.

Now, I feel lucky enough, to be in love with someone who sees (and tells) me how attractive and desirable I am, every so often. Who isn't really concerned about how we do with the relationship, but is concerned about me (well, now at least). We had backslides too, like most couples, but manage to win them over. And now, everything gets better by the day.

And as love make us blind, we forget that we don't really need anyone but ourselves, to make us feel worthy or desirable enough. All we really need is to believe that we are still marketable, pricey enough to draw men who will appreciate us more than we do ourselves. And sometimes, that's more than enough.

Who needs a HE when I have ME?
